I’m an air traffic controller working at Chicago Executive Air Traffic Control Tower. This blog was started to help others get an idea and feel for what the ATC profession is all about. The aviation industry is constantly changing and so is how we control traffic.
Prior to becoming an air traffic controller, I worked on the “line” at Fort Lauderdale International Airport, at a FBO called National Jets. The experience gave me a great introduction into the world of aviation. Since I didn’t have a pilots license, like many of the line-crew that were working on theirs, it was a prelude to everything I’ve learned up until now. It opened my eyes to many different styles of aircraft and provided me with some insight into an industry I was about to immerse myself in. At least on one side of the frequency anyways.
My objective is to help people learn new things and keep this blog’s ingredients geared toward aviation. I’m open to suggestions and comments to help bridge the professional gap between pilots and air traffic controllers. I’m also available for questions that anyone might have regarding an air traffic control career.
